Who We Are

This website is operated by Child Safe Middle East ("Child Safe ME", "we", "us", or "our"). We are an international child safeguarding consultancy founded by Maryam Ehsani, providing consulting, training, policy development, and advisory services worldwide.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, you can reach us at info@childsafeme.com.

What Data We Collect

We collect information in two ways:

Information you provide directly. When you use our contact form, you provide your name, email address, and message content. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry and to follow up on potential consulting or speaking engagements. We do not add you to a mailing list without your explicit consent.

Information collected automatically. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics collects:

  • Pages visited, time spent on the site, and how you arrived (e.g. search engine, direct link, social media)
  • Approximate geographic location (city level, derived from your IP address)
  • Device type, browser, and operating system
  • Anonymised IP address (Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses)

This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you. We use it to improve the website and understand which content is most useful to our visitors.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Our site uses the following cookies:

  • _ga — set by Google Analytics to distinguish unique visitors. Expires after 2 years.
  • _ga_[ID] — set by Google Analytics to maintain session state. Expires after 2 years.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any third-party marketing tools. We do not share your browsing data with advertisers.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block cookies entirely, delete existing cookies, or be notified before a cookie is set. Please note that disabling cookies may affect how the site functions.

How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your enquiries submitted through the contact form
  • To understand how our website is used and to improve its content and performance
  • To comply with legal obligations where applicable

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Legal Basis for Processing

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process your data on the following legal bases:

  • Legitimate interest — for analytics data, to understand and improve our website
  • Consent — when you voluntarily submit your contact details through our form
  • Legal obligation — where we are required by law to retain or disclose information

Data Retention

Contact form submissions are retained for as long as necessary to complete the enquiry and any resulting business relationship, after which they are deleted. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted by Google.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party service that may process data on our behalf:

Your Rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or a jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict the processing of your data
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

To exercise any of these rights, please email us at info@childsafeme.com.

International Data Transfers

Google Analytics data may be processed on servers located outside the European Economic Area. Google participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and maintains appropriate safeguards for international data transfers. Our website is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the EU (London, eu-west-2).

Children's Privacy

Our website and services are directed at organisations and professionals, not at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised date below.
